FLU CLINICS:

Please see the NHS Website for more guidance: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine/

We are holding flu clinics at the Surgery in October, for those who are eligible. If you have received a text message, please book using the link, or call the Surgery. If you are over 65, you can have your flu vaccine at any participating Pharmacy. If you are under 65, you will need to show your eligibility text message/letter. Not all Pharmacies are doing under 65's, so we recommend ringing in advance.

Starting from mid-October, people aged 50 years old or over (including those who will be 50 years old by 31 March 2023) can have a free NHS flu vaccine. This is so at-risk groups can be offered vaccination first. A local Pharmacy will be able to do that for you. Alternatively, you can wait to be invited by the Surgery, to have it done with one of our clinicians.

Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

These can be arranged by filling out a travel form in reception or download below. The practice nurse will consult your records and write out your personalised immunisations programme which can usually be carried out by appointment. Please leave plenty of time before travelling, as some vaccinations need to be given at least four to six weeks before travel.

Please do not telephone the nurses directly as travel health advice is constantly changing and requires the latest recommendations which change frequently (and so require research).

A fee will be charged for vaccinations that are not covered under the NHS.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Please note that we CANNOT prescribe specialist and “in case” medication such as antibiotics and altitude sickness treatment for medico-legal reasons. If you require these, please contact your travel company or a specialist travel clinic.
